Ingredients:
- 1 package Loretta Chicken Flavored Rice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Loretta Chicken Flavored Rice according to the package instructions, using chicken broth instead of water for extra flavor. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, celery, and carrots. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the dried cranberries, nuts (if using), sage, thyme, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the vegetables and stir well to combine. Adjust seasoning with salt if needed.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve as a flavorful Thanksgiving side dish.
